Shameka Bailey
Till Death Do Us Part: The Completion of the Covenant
Shameka Bailey was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She is the wife of the late Walter Bailey and the mother of two beautiful daughters, Tee and Brooke. Through the trauma and many obstacles she’s faced, with the help of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she persevered and remained triumphant. Her experiences in life make her a trusted source of both help and hope. As a teen mother, she graduated high school. As a widowed/single mother, she attended college and graduated at the top of her class. Shameka was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and honored at the Soroptimist Awards Luncheon, receiving a scholarship for college. She is an entrepreneur, artist, poet, educator, and, most importantly, a lover of Christ. Shameka loves children, has a passion for teen mothers, and strives to let her life be an example to others of how they can overcome any obstacle they may face.
Shameka is a “Living Testimony” of God’s keeping power. As a widow, she desires to create a safe space for others like her, who often seem forgotten after the dust settles. She believes widows are not in the same category as any other woman and widowhood was fashioned by God Himself for His chosen daughters. Widows hold a special place in His heart and deserve to be treated with honor, compassion, and, most importantly, protection. Her life verse is Isaiah 43:18-19. God has truly begun a new thing in her life. She aspires to be a beacon of light for many generations to come.
